SINK THE BISMARCK ~ sung by Johnny Horton

A legend ship of the 2nd World War,
the Brits, took her down.  A little bit of history

Jimmy Dean - Big Bad John (1961)

Just a reminder of big bad John..

Adele - Rolling In The Deep

Imus had Tribeca on this morning and they sang this, but as good as they are, Adele has the voice for this song! Her album is sweeping the country ....

ELLA MAE MORSE ~ SHOO SHOO BABY ~ 1943

Music that kept everyone up, in spite of the war. Keeping up spirits! Patriotism was necessary to be able to handle the loss of your loved one , and they were gone for years....4 and more....the suffering was incredible.

ELLA MAE MORSE MISTER FIVE BY FIVE 1942

The boys were being drafted and volunteering for the service....when this song was played, and boy could they "cut a rug" as they danced with Ella Mae Morse.....memories of the war years, will be coming in my next book , almost ready to be publised.

Ella Mae Morse - The Blacksmith Blues (1952)

what a great jitterbug number, we loved it....just a hello to one of the old songs and old singers. a good song to learn how to jitterbug, cause the beat is slow enough and you can heel toe to it, until you get it...

Secrets of the Heart, Madlyn Fafard

The blurb about the book, conveys the idea that it is a love story, but it is in fact more than a love story, it takes you to some of what life was like in the 1940's, during the war.  It is a spiritual story, that conveys the patriotism of the time.

My second book, which is nearing completion is much more descriptive of life in the era of the 2nd World War.  It is a my memoire of growing up in Framingham, Mass., during that period.

Ella Fitzgerald - There's A Lull In My Life

Carroll Gibbons - Sand in my shoes

Garden in the Rain, A: New Popular Edition (sheet music)Some old songs to make new again, Sand in My Shoes, was a great jazz song, which is hard to find anywhere today. I remember that there was a local group from Natick, Mass., that played at the Maridor in Framingham, they did a rendition of this song that I loved.   Every weekend Byron Sculos, one of the owners would have a jam session after hours at his house, often including visiting stars playing in the area, like Carousel, or Ceasars Palace.

Part 1: Professor Ian Plimer Interviewed by Brian Carlton; Heaven and Earth

There is a whole group of hard working people trying to convince us that people are the cause, and can be the cure of "Global Warming", which is really climate change.  This is an explanation from someone who studies this science.  In no way am I advocating not being protective of our resources, to be careful of our waste, etc.  This is just hoping that you will listen to the less advertised views of people that study the climate.

A Gift to My Children

Jim Rogers is a gem, I am thinking about getting his new book for each grandchild for Christmas.  It is not so much about investing as it is in how to live your life.

Wow! did you read the start of this book in the New York Times, May 15 , Book Review.  It sizzles.  I am in a stagnant period, trying to finish up some factual reading, finishing up my own 2nd book, about growing up during the  Second World War, and trying to keep up with newly published books.  Take a look here.

Ray Anthony - Blue Velvet - wmv

Blue Velvet was popular around 1949, we all had to have a blue velvet dress, for our best dates, athe ballrooms that circled the area.  Louis Armstrong played this at Canobie Lake Park, just north of Boston.  In those days it was a date location for dancing with and under the stars, something I could never forget, thank you Joe Lavin.

Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World!, by Andrew Brei...

During the Second World War, those of us alive saw how to spread propaganda, true or false! During the Cold War, we watched Kruschev take off his shoe and slam it down saying, we will beat you (in so many words)! Would you expect that a group of people known as the Frankfurt Group, would figure out how to turn us against each other and make the political scene in the United States full of strife and turmoil,  true or false?

This post is to ask you to consider that what is said in this book,  that what is revealed, could be true, and could be in the works, to change us, based on a simple process of creating rage and thru that rage turning us against each other.   If you have lived through many elections, you have never seen anything like the political valleys we are now facing!  It is almost impossible to have people reach accord, the rifts are growing larger and more devastating to our future.

You must form your own opinions, it has to come from within your own soul.  Saul Alinsky proposed the methods now in use to overcome our country as we once knew it.  Now, Charly Gullett is suggesting we turn the tables, of course it is not warmly received, because maybe we are too late, to wake up to what is happening?  What do you think, should you know more?

The interview of this book by Andrew Britebart conducted Sunday on Book TV was fascinating, and totally convincing that a method of change, of propaganda, like we have never seen is underway in this country, all steming from a group of Marxists, known as the Frankfurt Group, who came here to escape the Nazi's .  They became disgusted with our culture of consumerism, in their new Southern California home ( naturally) and decided to change it with the tactics , as described in this book and other literature about Saul Alinsky.

The truth of this book is shining through, when you read the reviews on Van Jones, who has published
The Green Collar Economy, and illustrates his desire in the book ,  to focus on race relations , rather than the subject of the book, in order to create rage and disharmony among fellow Americans.  Again, form your own opinion, read the reviews

It is not for me to convince you, but to suggest you consider what people are showing us to be facts or non facts, the decision is yours.

Richard Rotelli authors second book

Richard Rotelli, is from Framingham , Mass.

Richard's his first book,  A Creative Odyssey, is about a crippled man Richard's family befriended, who became an artist with the help of the family who took him in.

It is inspiring, it see what love and caring can do.  Also, it is a picture into the past, when there where ice houses, and no roads across the United States.

Let Me Be A Light, is the story of faith, and finding God, one man's illumination and fufillment.  Told as only Richard can tell a story like this.

Frank Ifield - I Remember You (Original)

Slim Whitman did a great version of this song also.  The yodeling made this song stand out.  Whitman does it more with the guitar, than the voice.

Reincarnation, eternal love

"Secrets of the Heart"' is a simple story of miracles  yet there are other themes that weave you into your own thoughts of growing up and how important your inner life is.  Multi layered for the reader who enjoys the deeper story that underlies the work.  Perfect for book groups, to discuss the themes of our shared lives and how we handle them.

Christian theme, eternal love

Stunned by a miracle shared with two other people, my dying Mother, and a Catholic Nun, I decided to write it in a novel, because I was too timid to place the scene in a factual book.  So, I spun a story around details of growing up in the 1940's and 50's with stream of consciousness, many voices, filled with love, joy and the pain that goes along with living a joyous full life.

Good reveiws can be seen at Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble.com.
